Kouros Brothers Duo Book 1& 2 ( The Greek’s Innocent Virgin & The Greek’s Christmas Baby) by Lucy Monroe

Both books can be read as a standalone. But I’d recommend reading both so that you can know more about the secondary characters who are appearing in both books.

Will he punish her with passion?

Greek tycoon Sebastian Kouros thinks he knows all about Rachel Long: as far as he’s concerned, she’s a scheming money-grabber who deserves nothing from him or his family.

But the searing sexual chemistry between them can’t be denied. Sebastian sees an opportunity to seduce this girl who plays it so sweet and innocent. He’ll discard her when he sees fit.…

Only Rachel isn’t a gold digger at all—she is innocent and she’s a virgin.…

While I read this book, I’m cursing how stupid Sebastian was. Is he that stupid or caveman? Which I think you have to make the decision yourself though.

After a head-on collision with another vehicle, Eden Kouros is overjoyed that her unborn baby has survived. But Aristide, her husband, has suffered a partial loss of memory.

Eden’s heart is torn in two. Aristide remembers almost everything–except that he has a wife. Yet perhaps Eden has been given a second chance to save her marriage, which was at breaking point before the accident: Aristide’s body hasn’t forgotten the desire they once shared…and she’s still carrying their precious, tiny child….

Out of the two books, this is my favorite. Eden is very much in love with Aristide but he seems doesn’t feel the same way towards her. Adding to the insult, his assistant had been hinting to Eden that she and Aristide are lovers. Now with Aristide suffering a partial loss of memory, Eden’s sufferings are twice the amount she felt before. Not only her husband had forgotten about her, he felt resentment towards Eden believing his assistant that Eden has gotten herself pregnant to trapped him into this loveless marriage. I felt so sorry for Eden while reading this book. The angst she felt, the hurt she felt and the loneliness she felt. This is definitely my pick out of the two. As for the graphic novel, that’s not what I expected. The characters trait in the book is ridiculous to the fact that I laugh while reading. Aristide in the book doesn’t have any Greek’s pride. And it’s so boring. So if you want to choose, choose the novel.

Accidentally on Purpose by Jill Shalvis

This is the third book of A Heartbreaker Bay Novel and it can be read as a standalone.

There’s no such thing as a little in love . . .

Elle Wheaton’s priorities: friends, career, and kick-ass shoes. Then there’s the muscular wall of stubbornness that’s security expert Archer Hunt—who comes before everything else. No point in telling Mr. “Feels-Free Zone” that, though. Elle will just see other men until she gets over Archer . . . which should only take a lifetime . . .

There’s no such thing as a little in lust . . .

Archer’s wanted the best for Elle ever since he sacrificed his law-enforcement career to save her. Their chemistry could start the next San Francisco earthquake and he craves her 24/7, but Archer doesn’t want to be responsible for the damage. The alternative? Watch her go out with guys who aren’t him . . .

There is such a thing as . . .

As far as Archer’s concerned, nobody is good enough for Elle. But when he sets out to prove it by sabotaging her dates, she gets mad—and things get hot as hell. Now Archer has a new mission: prove to Elle that her perfect man has been here all along . . .

This book totally rocks. In “Sweet Little Lies”, the tension between Archer and Elle are boiling. And they boiled all the way to their own book, ” Accidentally On Purpose”. In the back of my mind, I always think what’s the secret between the both of them? They want each other yet they kept pushing each other away. And why Archer’s police career is ruined because of Elle? And thank you Jill Shalvis for answering all the questions in this book. Why and what happen between Elle and Archer.

Elle always wanted Archer. Want him to look at her as a woman and not the young girl he met years ago. But Archer, being an alpha, took care of his pack and that included Elle. But Elle wants more than that but Archer wouldn’t want anything more than that. Is he? Decided enough is enough and Elle wants to forget Archer and thus her going out with another man. And that definitely riled Archer up to spoil her date. This is the beginning of their story.

Thoughts about The Phoenix Pack Book 1-3 by Suzanne Wright

This is about wolf shifters story. There are 5 books in the series but you can read them as a standalone.

The kickstart we have Feral Sins. This story is about 2 alphas meeting each other. Trey and Taryn.

Feral Sins.jpg

When female wolf shifter Taryn Warner first encounters Trey Coleman, an alpha male wolf shifter with a dangerous reputation, she’s determined to resist his charms. After all, Trey—who was only fourteen when he defeated his own father in a duel, winning the right to be the alpha of his pack—can’t have anything to offer the talented healer besides trouble, or so she thinks. Taryn finds herself drawn in by Trey’s forceful demeanor and arctic-blue eyes, and she eventually agrees to enter an uneasy alliance with him. If the two succeed in convincing their respective packs that they’ve chosen each other as mates, Trey will win valuable political allies, while Taryn will escape an odious arranged mating.

But there are a lot of potential pitfalls to this plan—including the very real possibility that the wolf shifters, overwhelmed by their growing attraction to each other, will be unable to maintain the clear heads needed to pull off the deception.

I simply love this story between Taryn and Trey. Taryn definitely has a sarcasm streak and the way she bickers with Greta, Trey’s grandmother, is hilarious. Although she is latent but she is not weak. And Trey is another character who I have the hots for. Although he is very bad at expressing his feelings but you won’t dislike this guy. Cos he is awkward but he is powerful.

Wicked Cravings is about beta wolf Dante and his mate Jaime.

Wicked Cravings.jpg

For years, wolf shifter Jaime Farrow has harbored a not-so-secret crush on gorgeous Dante Garcea. But the time has come for Jaime to face facts: despite her best efforts, Dante just isn’t interested. And that’s probably for the best. The last thing Jaime needs is for anyone—particularly Dante—to find out about her little “problem.” The one that haunts her past and threatens to destroy her and everyone she loves…

As the pack Beta, workaholic Dante Garcea doesn’t have time for distractions—especially the kind promised by Jaime Farrow. It’s all he can do to keep her at arm’s length and his desire at bay. Yet when her flirtations abruptly end, Dante becomes suspicious. She’s hiding something, something big, and unless he can convince her to trust him, their entire pack could be in danger. He knows hot-headed Jaime will resist him…but Dante never takes no for an answer.

This might be slightly boring for me cos I thought that the characters characteristics somehow is similar with Feral Sins.

Carnal Secrets is about Shaya and alpha wolf Nick.

Half-shifter Shaya Critchley may hold a submissive role in her pack, but she’s done taking orders. After her Alpha wolf mate refused to claim her—but committed to interfering in her life—she took off. Now she hides from him, posing as a human in a town full of anti-shifter extremist groups. She thinks he’ll never find her again, and that suits her just fine. But she’s wrong.

Nick Axton can barely control his feelings for Shaya, but he could never claim her—not if he truly cares for her. The degenerative brain condition he keeps secret would ultimately leave her with a burden rather than a mate. But when Shaya runs away, Nick can’t bear the thought of never seeing her again. After tracking her down, he discovers Shaya’s feisty and passionate side in the process…a side he’d never seen before.

Under the menacing gazes of territorial local packs and violent human extremists, Nick vows to finally claim the spirited Shaya…and despite her initial resistance, Shaya just might find his fiery determination to be the ultimate aphrodisiac.

This one threw me off by showing a shrewd and crazy Shaya. In book 1 and 2 she is a totally sweet shifter but this? The crazy bitch who swing her bat at Nick cos she is upset that he wouldn’t want to mate with her cos she is a submissive. But she doesn’t act like a submissive at all. Strong and crazy is not the same at all.

After I completed Carnal Secrets, I put on hold reading the rest of the series. The repeating characteristics of those females characters totally make me lose interest. The next book is still on my kindle and I will pick it up when I feel like knowing the next couple, Marcus, and Roni. Maybe Roni’s character will be different from the rest of the female.

Book Review on Entangle Me series by Maggie Way

My thoughts about Entangle Me series. There is a total of 7 books in this series. But not to worry as they are not the lengthy type books.

Sydney is the first book in this series. The story is about wedding planner Lacey Ryan, caught her fiance cheated on her on their wedding day rehearsal. After canceling the wedding, she drinks and thrashes at her best friend Gabe’s place. After thinking hard, Lacey decided to drive back to her place and gave her ex-fiance a piece of her mind when she stumbles upon her brother’s best friend, Tristan Keys. Seeing that she is too drunk to drink, Tristan offers to drive her back. Tristan has an event planning company and he offers to employ Lacey as a wedding planner. Not to plan local weddings but international weddings. So as the story progress, the sexual attraction between Tristan and Lacey are progressing too.

It all started at Paris when Tristan and Lacey have to plan a client’s wedding together. The fuel added when Tristan’s past appears before them without warning. Lacey thought that Tristan is still in love with his ex but what she didn’t know is how crazy that ex is. Tristan and Lacey agree to have a secret relationship because they do not want to upset her brother and everything is going fine until Tristan’s mother revealed the past about Tristan that upset Lacey so much that she decided to end their affair and working relationship. But what Lacey didn’t expect is what happen at Las Vegas when Tristan and she have to plan Lacey’s brother’s wedding.

This is the final of the 7 books series. Where Lacey and Tristan’s relationship comes to a conclusion.

IT is very nice to read about Lacey’s growth throughout the book. Cos she started out kind of childish but then she starts to grow and bloom when handling overseas wedding plannings and relationship with Tristan. But then sadly, she turns back to the little girl and ran away when there’s a problem between her and Tristan. And she threw everything away and start afresh with a man whom she didn’t really know. Lacey has her happy ending and while reading the whole series, I think I might have some colorful words for Tristan and Lacey. And unbelievable, I like Gabe more than the two. It’s a ok read for me and if you personally enjoy books about wedding planning, you might want to give this series a try.

Welcome to The Search by Nora Roberts

This is another book that I enjoy by Nora Roberts. Some might not enjoy due to the book have too much information about training dogs. But for me, I enjoy the pace and the joy the book brought me.

The Search.jpg

To most people, Fiona Bristow seems to have an idyllic life—a quaint house on an island off Seattle’s coast, a thriving dog-training school and a challenging volunteer job performing Canine Search and Rescue. Not to mention her three intensely loyal Labs. But Fiona got to this point by surviving a nightmare.

Several years ago, Fiona was the only survivor of the Red Scarf Killer, who shot and killed Fiona’s cop fiancé and his K-9 partner.

On Orcas Island, Fiona has found the peace and solitude necessary to rebuild her life. But all that changes on the day Simon Doyle barrels up her drive, desperate for her help. He’s an intensely private wood artist and the reluctant owner of an out-of-control puppy named Jaws.

As Fiona embarks on training Jaws, and Simon begins to appreciate both dog and trainer, the past tears back into Fiona’s life. A copycat killer has emerged out of the shadows, a man whose bloodlust has been channeled by a master with one motive: to reclaim the woman who slipped out of his hands.

TBH, this book doesn’t have much suspense. It’s already telling us that there is another copycat killer who’s copying the serial killer who Fiona help to put behind bars. It’s more about how Fiona train the dogs, assist in the Canine search and rescue and bickering with Simon. But nonetheless, this book still brought me the joy I’m looking for. Especially the one who always steal the limelight, Jaws. The puppy is very adorable. Too adorable that I think he overshadowed the main characters. ☺️

Book intro to The Liar by Nora Roberts

This is another romantic suspense book that I’ve enjoy by Nora Roberts.

The Liar.jpeg

Shelby Foxworth lost her husband. Then she lost her illusions …

The man who took her from Tennessee to an exclusive Philadelphia suburb left her in crippling debt. He was an adulterer and a liar, and when Shelby tracks down his safe-deposit box, she finds multiple IDs. The man she loved wasn’t just dead. He never really existed.

Shelby takes her three-year-old daughter and heads south to seek comfort in her hometown, where she meets someone new: Griff Lott, a successful contractor. But her husband had secrets she has yet to discover. Even in this small town, surrounded by loved ones, danger is closer than she knows—and threatens Griff, as well. And an attempted murder is only the beginning.

This story is about a young widow who was left with a huge debt by her deceased husband. Not only that, she found out that he’s a fraud and didn’t even know if she marry the correct man with the correct name. It tells us how Shelby try to “restart” her life with her daughter. What makes the book interesting are the secondary characters who happen to be Shelby’s mother Ada Mae and her forever young looking grandmother, Viola MacNee Donahue. The way they talk to Shelby always make me smile especially when they’re talking about their sex life with her. The other interesting character in the book is Shelby’s little daughter, Callie. I like the way she “flirt” with Griffin. She is so cute. Anyway, this book is more of a fun read. Yes, there are suspense in the book but it’s very easy to guess “WHO”. If you enjoy romance book with a bit of suspense in it, you might want to pick this up. ☺️

#bookreview on The Obsession by Nora Roberts

This is one of my fav. books by Nora Roberts. If you are not a fan of romantic suspense genre, you might want to skip this book.

“She stood in the deep, dark woods, breath shallow and cold prickling over her skin despite the hot, heavy air. She took a step back, then two, as the urge to run fell over her.”

Naomi Bowes lost her innocence the night she followed her father into the woods. In freeing the girl trapped in the root cellar, Naomi revealed the horrible extent of her father’s crimes and made him infamous. No matter how close she gets to happiness, she can’t outrun the sins of Thomas David Bowes.

Now a successful photographer living under the name Naomi Carson, she has found a place that calls to her, a rambling old house in need of repair, thousands of miles away from everything she’s ever known. Naomi wants to embrace the solitude, but the kindly residents of Sunrise Cove keep forcing her to open up—especially the determined Xander Keaton.

Naomi can feel her defenses failing, and knows that the connection her new life offers is something she’s always secretly craved. But the sins of her father can become an obsession, and, as she’s learned time and again, her past is never more than a nightmare away.

Before I go further, this book contains violence like kidnapping, raping and stalking.

This book is about this photographer named Naomi who witness a hideous crime committed by her father. Despite that she managed to save the latest victim from her father’s clutches, Naomi and her brother had a hard time adjusting their lives when people found out who they are and start attacking them. Naomi and Mason are taken in by their uncle Seth who also helped raised them when their mother is mentally unwell. Years passed and Naomi did not settle down at any state and country. Until one day, she decided to purchase a house at Sunrise Cove. But happiness is short lived when there’s a missing woman in Sunrise Cove. And Naomi is shocked and upset when she learned that someone managed to learn about her past and her relationship with the century’s most notorious serial killer.

Take time to read and pay attention to some details. It might help when solving the “WHO is the perp?”

Book intro to Birthright by Nora Roberts

Whenever I’m facing reading slump, I will always refer to books that I enjoy tremendously so that I will have the motivation to start reading again. And Birthright is one of my favs.

When five-thousand-year-old human bones are found at a construction site in the small town of Woodsboro, the news draws archaeologist Callie Dunbrook out of her sabbatical and into a whirlwind of adventure, danger, and romance.

While overseeing the dig, she must try to make sense of a cloud of death and misfortune that hangs over the project—fueling rumors that the site is cursed. She must cope with the presence of her irritatingbut irresistibleex-husband, Jake. And when a stranger claims to know a secret about her privileged Boston childhood, she must question her own past as well.

The main character Callie Dunbrook is an archaeologist. She have to work at the latest digging with her ex-husband who’s also one of the main character, Jacob Graystone. The digging and sorting at the latest site actually have Callie dug out a deep buried secret. That secret might crush all the people who love her dearly. Jacob who still harbor feelings for Callie refused to let her handle the situation alone especially when her life is threatened.

The secondary character who we need to know is Lana Campbell. She’s an attorney who play an important role in the book as well as Douglas Cullen. The book content is what the title suggest, Birthright. I like how the plot goes and the suspense it brought me. It might be a bit lengthy. Enjoy the ride. 😀

The Murder Game by Beverly Barton

This is book 8 of the Griffin Powell series and my Favourite out of it. It can be read as a standalone.

New Game

The game is simple–he is the Hunter. They are the Prey. He gives them a chance to escape. To run. To hide. To outsmart him. But eventually, he catches them. And that’s when the game gets really terrifying. . .

New Rules

Private investigator Griffin Powell and FBI agent Nicole Baxter know a lot about serial killers–they took one down together. But this new killer is as sadistic as they’ve ever seen. He likes his little games, and he especially likes forcing Nic and Griff to play along. Every unsolvable clue, every posed victim, every taunting phone call–it’s all part of his twisted, elaborate plan. And then the Hunter calls, wanting to know if they’re really ready to play. . .

But Winner Still Kills All. . .

There’s a new game now, and it’s much more deadly than the first. A brutal psychopath needs a worthy adversary. He won’t stop until he can hunt the most precious prey of all–Nicole. And with his partner in a killer’s sights, Griff is playing for the biggest stakes of his life.

Let me show you a small paragraph.

Nic was wide-awake when he came to get her. He looked nothing like she had expected. No horns and forked tail. No murderous glint in his eye. The man who approached her appeared quite normal, not an evil monster. A little under six feet tall, stocky build, dressed in camouflage pants and matching shirt. An ordinary-looking man with a round, almost pleasant face. “Good morning, Nicole,” that familiar soft voice said.

The bickering between Griffin and Nicole started when they investigate the previous case “together”. Nicole dislike him for overstepping his boundaries while Griffin dislike her for always “bashing” the men. But, in this case, they have to investigate together cos the killer strings them into his game. The more time they spent together, the more……….

Book Review on Dark Lover by J. R. Ward

I will not deny that the book’s description sound and look very very interesting to read.

(The Black Dagger Brotherhood Book 1)

The only purebred vampire left on the universe and the leader of the Black Dagger Brotherhood, Wrath has a score to settle with the slayers who killed his parents centuries ago. But when his most trusted fighter is killed—orphaning a half-breed daughter unaware of her heritage or her fate—Wrath must put down his dagger and usher the beautiful female into another world.

Racked by a restlessness in her body that wasn’t there before, Beth Randall is helpless against the dangerously sexy man who comes to her at night with shadows in his eyes. His tales of the Brotherhood and blood frighten her. Yet his touch ignites a dawning new hunger—one that threatens to consume them both.

This is my very first book by J. R. Ward. I picked up this book cos it’s being recommended by a book club and seriously, I’m intrigued cos the cover and the blurb sound interesting.

It started out great but I really really had a hard time concentrating on the names in the book. There’re so many names that I need to remember and honestly speaking?? I forgot who’s who. Except Wrath, the blind king. And Z. The scarred face emotionless vamp.

They’re divided into two groups. The vampires and the ones who’s hunting them is call the Lesser. Apparently the Lesser are not those normal vampire hunters we’ve read about. They’re different. They’re not really alive and they’re not vamps. And the vamps are pretty cool as they need to eat like human beings. But consume blood like once or twice per month. Not those ” I need blood to survive.”

Characters building wise are ok cos I get to know them much better but I had a hard time learning their names. Maybe the next book I might have a better idea. The boring part are the scenes between Marissa and Butch. Truth to be told, I yawn whenever they appear. Too much of them. It’s like needing their appearances together to fill some of the pages.

The plot is good. I do like the vampires although their attire are anything but made of leather.

This book is worth to read. But be mindful of the names. It’s interesting to find out how centuries of feud is going to end when we finish the series.
